After Attack UN School, Israel Announces Unilateral Ceasefire

Jerusalem - Israel announced a unilateral ceasefire implementation in the Gaza region for 7 hours. Action was acted after the UN and western countries for criticizing the actions of Israel, which bombed an area near a UN school in Gaza.

According to the BBC, Monday (08/04/2014), the ceasefire will take effect from 07.00 to 14:00 GMT (2:00 p.m. to 21:00 pm). In all the Palestinian territories, except in the city of Rafah near the Egyptian border.

A senior Israeli military official said it allowed the Abasan al Kabira and Abasan al-Saghira - two villages east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza - to return to their homes start at 05.00 GMT.

However, the senior official continued, the Israeli army will respond if there is an attack in the ceasefire period. Israel, he said, would not hesitate to attack civilians and soldiers.

Israel responded to the Hamas group's announcement with skepticism. Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told the people of Gaza to be vigilant.

"Unilateral ceasefire announced by Israel is an effort to transfer from the Israeli massacres," Zuhri said.
