ISIS Militants Seize Oil Field in Iraq

BAGHDAD - Insurgents of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) seized northern Iraqi city Zumar and oil fields near the site after engaging in battle with Kurdish forces who control the area, witnesses said on Sunday (3/8).

ISIS guerrillas, who have done a flash forward movement in northern Iraq in June, warned residents of nearby villages on the border with Syria to leave their homes, said they planned to launch an attack, witnesses said.

The militant group, which controls large parts of northern and western Iran, threatening to move to Baghdad but ceased operations just north of the city of Samarra, north of Baghdad 1000km.
