UN chief: Attack on School in Rafah is Criminal


Gaza - Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki Moon said the attack near a UN school in Gaza as a moral outrage and a criminal act.

As reported by CNN on Monday (08/04/2014) Ban said, in blatant violation of international law, it means that those who do so will be prosecuted accountability.

"This madness must be stopped," said Ban.

The attack in Rafah was the entrance gate of the school, which became a shelter thousands of Palestinians who fled from Israel-Hamas war.

Israel has denied attacking the school, but stated there was fighting around the school.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said, if Hamas militants make the school a war zone, then they should be held responsible.

Gaza Health Ministry said at least 30 people were killed on Sunday, August 3. While Hamas continues to fire rockets into Israel.

Since Israel launched a military operation on July 8, about 1,750 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians and injured 9,000 more.

While the camp of Israel, 66 people were killed, including Lt. Hadar Goldin who had previously confirmed killed by Hamas militants kidnapped Israeli on Friday, August 1st last.

An Israeli army spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said the attack on Gaza mission will be forwarded to the operations of ground forces.

Some reports said the Israeli soldiers continued to approach the main goal, which is to destroy underground tunnels used Hamas to attack Israel.
