A senior military official North Korea threatened to launch a nuclear attack against America that he accuses of increasing tensions on the Korean peninsula.
North Korea is believed to be still far away from the ability to make a ballistic missile with a far distance, and previously had often made similar threats.
Deputy Marshal Hwang Pyong So on Sunday (27/7) said his country would launch a nuclear rocket to the White House and American military bases in the Pacific region if the Americans are trying to undermine the sovereignty and the right of North Korea to have nuclear weapons.
Hwang said this in a speech in Pyongyang 61st anniversary of signing the armistice which ended the Korean War in 1953.
Experts say North Korea has ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States. The country has tested a short-range missile capable of reaching remote South Korea and Japan.
