Hammas Reject Ceasefire Extension

More than 1900 people were killed during the four weeks of fighting in Gaza

Palestinian militant organization Hamas reject ceasefire extension during the three days in Gaza that ended Friday (08/08).

Israel is said to fail to meet the demands of Hamas, including the reopening of the Gaza port for shipping.

Two rockets fired from Gaza hit southern Israel three hours before truce officially ended, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF has accused "terrorists" violates ceasefire.

The rockets fell in open area and caused no casualties, the Israeli army said Friday (08/08).

Hamas denies firing the rockets.

Ready 'long war'

A spokesman for the military wing of Hamas had earlier called on the Palestinian negotiators to hold indirect talks with Israeli negotiator in Cairo for ceasefire extension rejected unless an agreed long-term demands.

The spokesman said his organization is ready for a "long war".

Israeli officials had earlier said they were willing to extend the cease-fire before it ends on Friday.

However Hamas, which controls Gaza, says there is a big gap between the two sides.

More than 1,900 people were killed during the four weeks of fierce fighting between Israeli forces and militants in Gaza.
